Jars are fun. People from all walks of life will perceive these differently, speculating about what they are for. Ultimately, it's completely subjective. What any vessel could hold depends entirely upon the person who owns it. For example: we have customers who use these for herbs and spices, exquisite beads, frankincense & myrrh / resin incense, shea butter, candle making, paper clip holder, Q-tip dispenser, toothpicks, tobacco...even to use as a portable odorless ashtray!
We've also noticed that a lot of folks call our handblown art glass: nug stash jar, nug jars, etc.

I suppose that's about right. They're very handy in our studio for storing the chunks of gold & silver bullion which we use for fuming and coloring the glass. Personally, I have one on my workbench where I deposit my rings while working, and another in my car with a fragrant chunk of golden amber resin inside. If the aroma displeases my passenger, or becomes overwhelming on a hot summer day, I simply put a cork in it.

Historically speaking: ornate hollow vessels have been used to contain anything which fits inside... often something quite precious. However, some of our customers never fill their jars with anything at all, enjoying them purely as ornamental objects, or home decor accents. In actuality, the usage of a hand blown glass jar is only limited by the scope of your imagination.
